Serene Hostellerie de Levernois

Allow us to recommend a memorable stay at the tasteful 5-star Hostellerie de Levernois in the heart of the Côte de Beaune.  An esteemed member of the Relais & Chateaux, the hotel is situated on the edge of a golf course in an 11-acre park that offers a seemingly endless air of tranquility.

The intimate estate includes several room and suite selections and exceptional dining to make the hostellerie the ideal base for exploring the wine country of Burgundy.  Indulge in a charming  lunch at the Bistrot du Bord de l’Eau on the river, before exploring area vineyards and tasting rooms – bicycles are available for your use.  And at the end of the day, a glass of wine on your private terrace is essential to be beginning of a pleasant evening.

You may be surprised at the small size of Burgundy’s internationally-acclaimed wine appellations.  A few geographic and historic details point to the reason for this.  Twenty-five million years ago – yes, rather a long sweep of time! – this land shifted, re-arranging layers of limestone and soil. That’s why grapes along the 40-mile stretch in Burgundy yield several different wines.  The many individual soils in the area produce unique flavors for the exceptional wines produced.

By all means, ask your host for recommended sites to explore along the Côte de Beaune, where some of the finest dry white wines in the world are produced – such as  Corton Charlemagne and le Montrachet.  During your sojourns, you will discover lovely villages, historic castles and fantastic Burgundian cuisine to complement the regional wines.

The Pommard, Meursault and Chassagne Montrachet castles are handsome examples of the “Clos” wall-enclosed estates.  Visit the Château de Chorey-les-Beaune – a mix of 13th to 17th century architectural styles, owned by the Germain family.  Their distinguished wines are served in fine restaurants throughout the world.

We’d love to hear from you!
